Five riders turned-up at the Choir Hall for the Grand Depart, missing newcomers Peter and Margaret Hurst (we did see them later) for the ride to Goldcliff and the Seawall Tearooms. The route included Caerwent, Carrow Hill and Magor before meeting Grahame Morton at Redwick (he had already departed), for coffee and cake at the cafe. The return journey saw the group cycle through Undy and Rogiet, returning to the Choir Hall by the back lanes from Rogiet.
