Jersey Challenge

•New Years resolutions?
•Need some motivation?
•Want to get fit?
•Want to take part in an organised cycle competition? – there were 250 logged rides for the 2013 competition (45 riders).
•Set your own goals?
•Any type of bike can be used – any route.
•Why not take part in a new competition run by Cor Meibion Caldicot Cycle Club (CMCCC)?
•Available to members of the choir and to those who have supported the various charity cycle rides we have been involved with.
•New members of the Choir and of the Cycle Club will be eligible.
How to Play
•Join the challenge and ride your bike from 29th December 2013 to 31st December 2014 inclusive.
•Record your any rides via a mobile app or manually log your workout – Garmin, Polar, Runkeeper, MapMyRide, Strava screenshot of other GPS app or manual log via email (tony.griffiths1@virgin.net) will be accepted.
•Overall – Yellow jersey will be awarded to the person who has covered the most miles by the end of the challenge.
•Mountains – Polka-dot jersey will be awarded to the person who has recorded the greatest height gain in feet by the end of the challenge.
•Points – Green jersey will be awarded to the person who scores the most points (awarded for difficulty of rides and distance covered with average speed used in the points co-efficient) – this is new for 2014.
•Ladies – Pink jersey will be awarded to the lady who has covered the most miles by the end of the challenge.
•CMCCC – Blue jersey will be awarded to the CMCCC member who has covered the most miles by the end of the challenge.
•Chance for other cycle clubs / companies (who are taking part) to put-up their own jersey?
A cyclist can only win one award; the order of priority will be Overall, Mountains then Points.
•If a cyclist wins more than one category then they will be awarded in priority order with the next best placed rider taking the prize.
•Stats from the charity ride will be recorded for everyone based on GPS readings taken on the day.
•Results and standings will be made available on www.choircycle.co.uk
NOTE: – The 2014 competition started on December 29th 2013 and will run under December 31st 2014
