64 – Old Ferry, Beachley

Great ride over the Wye to the Old Beachley Ferry. Starting off from the Choir Hall, the party made their way over to Black Rock in Sudbrook before climbing the drag up over Leechpool to the main road. Down St. Pierre hill and taking the lane into pretty Mathern village before climbing the short, but steep Dark Hill into Bulwark. Riding up past the hospital then swooping down Welsh Street and into the Castle Dell. Crossing the border into England via the old Wye Bridge before climbing up to Tutshill via Castleford Hill. From there it was down the peninsular past the army barracks to the Old Ferry Inn for coffee. The return journey saw us cross back into Wales via the new by-pass and taking on the short, steep climb of School Hill. Up through the woods from Garden City to Bulwark and back through Hayes Gate and Crick to home.
