Distance: 45 miles – Difficulty: 3/5

Ride over the bridge to the historic town of Berkeley, site of a magnificent castle.

Seven cyclists made the start at the Choir hall, in fact Gareth Davies started in Bassaleg and had already done 20 miles before reaching us. At Chepstow we were joined by the Ward family making a total of ten riders crossing the bridge.

The route took us out of Caldicot climbing over to Parkwall before descending down to Mathern. The sharp climb up Dark Hill will lead us onto the M48 Approach Road before crossing the Severn Bridge. Into the lanes through Littleton Upon Severn and Oldbury before reaching Berkeley for some well deserved coffee and cake. The return journey followed the same route.

Nick Powell missed the start and ended up on his way to Dursley only to puncture and had to get a lift back.
