With the forthcoming Taff Trail challenge approaching, the cycle club again decided to up the practice run mileage with a trip across the Old Severn Bridge to the New Passage which lies at the foot of the New Severn Bridge. Six club members set-off from the Choir Hall to travel via Sudbrook and Black Rock then via the long climb up through Leechpool before reaching Parkwall. It was down the St. Pierre hill and turning off opposite the New Inn towards Mounton on the Shirenewton road. There are two nasty climbs coming out of Mounton to the main road near Chepstow hospital, from there it was downhill all the way across the bridge and back towards Caldicot with just the hill at St. Pierre to Parkwall to negotiate.
