Filming at the castle for the Summer series of ITV’s Coast and Country programme. The Choir Cycle Club was asked to ride around the castle for a documentary on the choir and its cyclists. Tony Griffiths and Alyn Dawe were interviewed by the presenter Sean Fletcher from ITV. Later on, the whole choir was filmed in the choir hall with a selection of songs which will be aired late June-July in 2022.

To date this year Caldicot Male Voice choir has raised almost £2000 as a result of 2 concerts. The Choir, with its associated cycle and golf clubs is also supporting Ready, Steady, Go a charity based in Undy which supports young children with autism and their families with advice, activities and meetings. On May 22nd for the first time in 3 years in glorious spring weather, the Choir’s Cycle Club was able to resume the Redwick Challenge where cyclists are challenged to ride as many times as they feel like around a 2 mile circuit of Redwick Village. The winners were Rachel Madge and Richard Kelly who each rode over 50 laps, completing over 100 miles. Best choristers were Russ Woodward and Anthony Griffiths with 23 laps. Well done Dave Gould, oldest chorister on the day who rode 24 miles!Latest estimates are that over £250 has been raised for the charity on the day.

The latest walk started from the town centre of Crickhowell, through the park over the River Usk to Llangattock. Following the canal path to Gilwern, stopping off for brief refreshments at the Corn Exchange. Taking the lane to Glangrwyney and along the main A40 back to Crickhowell. Unfortunately, Carolyn was sick so had to leave the rest of the party to enjoy Sunday Lunch at the Dragon Inn in the town.
