  1. After a weekend of rides, big congrats go to Gareth Davies on completing the longest ride of the year so far, an 80 miler to Berkeley. With too many to mention, well done to Christine Smith on reaching Tulsa, Oklahoma, Helen Gilmore on reaching Rolla, Missouri, Chris Nolan on entering Missouri at St. Louis, and David Vass and Helena Hunt on reaching Springfield, Illinois.

  2. Tracey Eastabrook the only rider out today with a 20 miler to Redwick and back. This takes Tracey close to the end of Stage 1 of the route.

  3. Back from holidays, lots of rides to catch-up on – special mention to Tony and Sharon Ward with a 47 mile ride in the Lake District, climbing nearly 3500 feet, has moved them on the Route 66 way. Congrats to Christine Smith on reaching Miami (Oklahoma), Steve Tobin and Sue Earnshaw (Springfield, Missouri), Gareth Davies (Rolla, Missouri), Tony Ward and Shane Carey (Pontiac, Illinois).

  4. Some epic rides over the last couple of days, 70 miler from David Whittle, 53 from Steve Tobin and a 37 mile ride from David Vass. Also out were Christine Smith, Helen Gilmore, Sue Earnshaw,Tony and Sharon Ward and Robert Stallard. Congrats to Christine on reaching 600 miles and to Sharon for passing Pontiac, Illinois. There may be a delay on the updates over the next week due to being out of the country, will catch-up as soon as I can.

  5. Another two riders out today, David Whittle with a 39 mile ride along beautiful Swansea Bay and Sue Earnshaw clocking over 500 miles for the year so far. David has now reached the State of Missouri and the city of St. Louis.

  6. Just two cyclists out today, both from the ‘Yellow’ team which has now taken the lead. Well done Robert Stallard and Helen Gilmore.

  7. March already, just a couple of rides to catch-up on – 20 miles for Christine Smith keeps her lead, just in-front of Rob Stallard whose 8 mile ride and puncture saw him reach Springfield, Missouri. Also out was new boy Shane Carey with a 14 mile ride into Newport.

  8. Well, of all the club rides we have organised over the last couple of years, today’s ride up to Gaerllwyd had to have been one of the best. Thirteen riders out, lovely day, all making in-roads to the Route 66 Challenge. Riders too numerous to mention, but congrats to Gareth Davies, Tony Griffiths and Helen Gilmore for reaching Rolla, Missouri, and also to Neil Gilmore who reached Pontiac, Illinois. Also, it now looks we have a full contingent of 24 riders with Shane Carey joining the party.

  9. Four riders out today, with rides of various difficulties. Pride of place must go to Helen Gilmore with a double climb up to Brynmawr, nearly 3,000 feet of climbing. Also big climb for Christine Smith who has also reached Springfield, Missouri and is on Stage 4 of the journey. Also out were David Whittle and Tony Griffiths.

  10. Just two rides to catch-up on before I am sure will be a busy weekend. A ride missing from yesterday saw Neil Gilmore add another 21 miles to his total, while Tracey Eastabrook, fresh back from her holiday, get straight back into it with a 10 miler to Magor. Also congrats to Tracey who has now reached Pontiac, Illinois.
