Three riders out today, top marks to David Whittle who tackled ‘The Bwlch’. 2900 feet of climbing in his 39 mile ride. Topping the 500 mile mark was Rob Stallard with a climb up to Shirenewton on his birthday, while Helen Gilmore put in another 14 miles. Good day for the Green and Yellow teams.

An update after a couple of days, Christine Smith powering ahead with 530 miles. Hot in pursuit are Rob Stallard, Sue Earnshaw, Kirstie Benjamin and Steve Tobin. Congrats to Sue, Kirstie and Steve on reaching Rolla, Missouri and to David Vass who reached Pontiac, Illinois.
Only one rider out today, congratulations to Christine Smith who passed the 500 mile mark with her 21 mile ride to Magor.
An update from the weekend’s activities – pick of the rides must go to Steve Tobin with a 57 mile trip, with over 3500 feet of climbing which has put him amongst the front runners. A total of 40+ miles for Tony Griffiths has closed the gap, whilst there were more miles under the belt for Christine Smith, Kirstie Benjamin, Chris Nolan and Tony and Sharon Ward.
Just one rider out today, Rob Stallard has now passed through Rolla, Missouri and is heading for his next stop at Springfield, Missouri.
A lovely, sunny Winter’s day saw four riders make further headway on the Route 66 Challenge. Top marks to Sue Earnshaw with a 51 mile ride which saw her bursting through the 400 mile mark. Also out improving their mileage were Christine Smith, Helen Gilmore and Janet Vale. Congratulations to Helen on reaching Springfield, Illinois.
Two rides today from Christine Smith has now put her out in front, she has also reached the city of Rolla, Missouri. Also out today was Helen Gilmore scoring more points for the ‘Yellow’ team, and there is also a catch-up ride (from Saturday) for Francesca Cooper.
Following on from yesterday’s exertions, only two riders out today with Rob Stallard taking the overall lead with a 23 mile ride, while fellow ‘Yellow’ team member, Neil Gilmore put in another 17 miles.
A great ride out to Beachley today, saw 11 riders (10 of them Route 66ers), add significant mileage and climbing feet to their tally’s. Pick of the day was Gareth Davies with a 62 mile ride. Also out were Tony and Carolyn Griffiths, Sharon Ward, Grahame Morton, Sue Earnshaw, Robe Stallard, Tracey Eastabrook, David Vass and new 66er, Janet Vale. Congatulations to Carolyn on reaching Pontiac, Illinois.
Just one rider out today, Christine Smith has smashed through the 400 mile barrier with a 22 mile ride to Usk and back.
