  1. Four riders out again today, although I think that Neil Gilmore’s 12 miles from Usk was yesterday but never mind. Also out reaching Springfield, Illinois was Tony Griffiths, arriving in St. Louis, Missouri was Sue Earnshaw crossing the State Line, and Christine Smith is closing in on 400 miles ridden.

  2. The usual suspects were out again today, a 17 mile ride from Rob Stallard passing on the road, a 14 mile trip for Kirstie Benjamin. Also out, making her way back and for work was Helen Gilmore with another 14 miles in the pocket. Big ride of the day thou, goes to Diane Potter with a 35 mile pedal to Usk, climbing nearly 2.5K as well. Well done all. Remember you can pay your R66 money via this link – https://www.justgiving.com/CaldicotChoirMNDA/

  3. Congratulations to Chris Nolan on reaching Springfield, Illinois, next stop St. Louis. Pick of the riders today was Sue Earnshaw with a near 2K climb and 41 miles to Dingestow and back. Also out where David Whittle, Chris Nolan, Kirstie Benjamin, Christine Smith and Robert Stallard.

  4. And still they go marching (well pedalling) away – four riders braved the cold weather today with Christine Smith leading the way with a 17 mile ride to Cwmcarn, and also climbing over 1,000 feet. David Whittle became the latest to suffer a puncture on his seaside ride to Porthcawl, while Kirstie Benjamin and Chris Nolan made a 14 mile ride to the pub in Mathern.

Good news on the charity donations, with Gift Aid we are now up to £160 raised – Thank you all for your contributions so far.

  5. There was a small window of opportunity today, with a break in the weather which saw 6 riders take advantage and get some miles in. Big congrats to Robert Stallard whose 26 miles saw him reach St. Louis, Missouri. His team-mates Tony Griffiths (26 miles) and Helen Gilmore (20 miles), pushed the ‘Yellow’ team into second place with their efforts. Also out was the new overall leader, Kirstie Benjamin, Christine Smith and Diane Potter.

  6. All 22 entries have now made their way on Route 66, heading from Chicago to Santa Monica, California, some 2,277 and 78,600 feet later.
