  1. Fair play, the girls keep them wheels turning. Excellent effort from Kirstie Benjamin today, another 22 miles in the bag and now just 10 miles outside Springfield, Illinois. Not far behind, Christine Smith took her monthly tally to 187 miles. Good effort girls.

  2. Only madmen and Welshmen (and women) would venture out on a day like today – freezing conditions led to icy lanes, but that did not stop four riders improving their position. Rob Stallard the biggest improver with 20 miles, followed closely by Carolyn Griffiths, Kirstie Benjamin and Tony Griffiths who all clocked-up 15 miles.
Spare a thought for Neil and Helen Gilmore, who were due to ride tonight but had their bikes stolen from the hospital car park!

  3. David Whittle was the star of the show today, 34 icy miles and nearly 2,500 feet of climbing, part-way up the Rhigos before the cold got to him. At least it got him to Pontiac, Illinois. Also out was Kirstie Benjamin and Sue Earnshaw, both braving the weather.

  4. Only one rider out today, Kirstie Benjamin with a 11 mile ride and another puncture. Website will be updated tomorrow.

  5. Another big effort today saw Steve Tobin ride through Springfield, Illinois and Tony Griffiths making it to Pontiac. Another two riders entered the fray today – welcome Grahame Morton and David Vass.

  6. Great effort today, nine Route 66 counting rides. That man Steve Tobin is top of the pops again with a 46 mile, 3K feet climb to Monmouth. Congrats go to the Breeze girls, Helen Gilmore, Christine Smith, Helena Hunt, Sue Earnshaw and Francesca Cooper who added 30 miles to their total. Also out were David Whittle (32 miles), Tracey Eastabrook (17 miles) and Kirstie Benjamin (14 miles). The ‘Green’ team now have the lead. Special mention to Christine and Helena who reached the first checkpoint, Pontiac.

  7. Three riders out today with the pick of the bunch, Sue Earnshaw clocking 26.5 miles, closely followed by Robert Stallard with 24.7. Also out was Christine Smith with 13.5 miles. With today’s mileage, Sue and Robert sped through Pontiac and now on their way to Springfield, Illinois, while Christine is camped just 2 miles from Pontiac.

  8. Few riders out today, on an unusually dry day. Well done Robert Stallard who contributed 28 miles to the ‘Yellow’ team and put himself just 8 miles outside Pontiac. Good efforts from Sue Earnshaw with the best climb of the day, and also Christine Smith who is keeping the ‘Red’ team score ticking over. Must also congratulate Gareth Davies who rolled into Springfield, Illinois on Monday.

  9. Another 15 miles from Kirstie and 2 miles from Gareth which puts him in Springfield, Illinois. Must mention the brave riding of Chris Nolan yesterday, 22 miles in the pouring rain. Well done mate, hope you have dried out. Full update will be posted tomorrow (12/1) evening.
