A new annual event was started at Wernddu Golf Club in Abergavenny, the Memorial Trophy in recognition of the founder of the Choir Birdie Boys Golf Society, the late David Gould.

A great turn-out of 20 players (choristers, family and friends), for the Texas Scramble event over the lower slopes of the Skirrid mountain.

The event was won by the team of Michael Griffiths, Taylor Gregory, David Hennesy and Stephen Hawkes with a great score of -4.

There were three Nearest the Pin competitions which were won by Michael Griffiths, Taylor Gregory and Anthony Howells.

The choir’s Musical Director, Sian Hatton, widow of the late David was present at the award presentation.
