Choir Walkers – Windmill Walk

Twelve walkers made the start at the Castle Inn in Caldicot, for the walk along Sandy Lane, Quarry, Dewstow Golf Course, Highmoor Hill, Slade Woods, Rogiet Country Park, and the Wales Coastal Path back to the castle.

Instead of a run this week at the Cornfield, due to injuries and illness, it was decided a 5K walk was in order.

Choir Walkers – Abergavenny Hills

Saturday, 8th July 2023

Epic adventure over the three hills of Abergavenny, the Blorenge 1,841 feet, the Sugar Loaf (Mynydd Pen-y-Fal) 1,995 feet and the Skirrid (Ysgyryd Fawr) 1,594. The team, split into two groups with the main party climbing both the Blorenge and the Sugar Loaf, whilst the other tackling the Skirrid.

Choir Walkers – Usk Plaque Reverse

Sunday, 2nd July 2023

A return trip to Usk for the walk taking in the 27 Blue Plaques, recording the history of the town.

Nine walkers made the trip, with visits to the 1405 Battlefield of Pwll Melyn, the various historical buildings in the town including the castle and church, sites of special interest and over the River Usk bridge and former railway station.

The day was completed with Sunday lunch at the New Court Inn on Maryport Street.
