Birdie Boys – Golf at Wernddu

First Choir golf day since lockdown saw twelve choristers and two friends play the first Texas Scramble of the year. Great weather, in the beautiful surroundings of Wernddu Golf Club in Abergavenny, under the shadow of the Ysgyryd Fawr (Skirrid) Mountain.

Choir Riders – 323 Magor Loop

Nice ride out this morning – 8 riders started at the Choir Hall to Magor via Crick, Caerwent, Carrow Hill stopping at the Golden Lion for coffee and tea-cakes. Back to Caldicot via Rogiet, with a lap of the now graveled parkrun course.

Choir Riders – 322 Caldicot Loop

Distance: 15 miles – Difficulty: 1/5

A good turnout this morning for the first group ride since lockdown. Ten riders made the start at the Choir Hall, nice to see John and Jane Nesbitt for their first ride with us.

The route took us to Mount Ballan to Crick, then along the A48 through Caerwent village and on to Five Lanes. The steady climb up Highmoor Hill to Dewstow before dropping down back into Caldicot. Over to Portskewett and Black Rock, before stopping at Sudbrook Cafe for refreshments and then back to the Choir Hall.
