Choir Runners – Rogiet Parkrun

Choir Walkers – Wet Wetlands

Sunday, 20th October 2024

Seven walkers met outside the Waterloo Inn in Nash for the 5 mile walk around the Newport Wetlands, and it was within 100 yards that the rain poured down, but undeterred, the group continued and was grateful for a pit-stop at the Wetlands Cafe, before finishing the walk to the Waterloo, although soggy, but no more rain.

The day was finished with Sunday Lunch and beer in the pub where we were joined by Rob and Chris Brown.

Birdie Boys – Spanish Tour

A very early flight out of Bristol Airport, saw us arriving at our hotel in Torremolinas late morning. A walk around the town, sampling a few drinks at local bars before a dip in the freezing cold sea.

The Friday saw our first golf event at the La Cala Resort, Asia course which was very challenging but was in beautiful condition on a hot day.

Saturday, it was back to La Cala to take on the equally challenging America course for the doubles competition which was won by David Gould and Karl Gregory.

The third golf day was just three of our company, Alyn and Jason Dawe and Andy Yearsley who played the La Cala Europa course, again a tough challenge of golf while the rest of the party relaxed at the hotel and town.
