  1. Two riders have improved their position this week, Tony Griffiths is within 200 miles of the finish, and Diane Potter is consolidating a Top 10 finish. With club rides booked for the weekend, are certain to see more progress.

  2. Despite the bad weather, six riders made it out on the roads of trails of South Wales. Helen Gilmore is now just 53 miles from completing the challenge; Tony Griffiths has now reached the California State Line; Gareth Davies added another 22 miles to his credit; Diane Potter cleared the 1,300 mile mark; Francesca Cooper added another 14 miles; and David Vass another 23 miles. Just about 6 weeks left on the challenge now.

  3. Midweek catch-up has seen two riders out this week. Tony Griffiths has now broken the 2,000 mile barrier and also the 70,000 feet of climbing, whilst David Vass has now reached Tulsa, Oklahoma.

  4. Busy weekend, five riders out, Helen Gilmore creeping closer to the end of the challenge, just 79 miles to go; Tony Griffiths getting ever closer to the 2,000 miles barrier, passing 70,000 feet of climbing and reaching party town, Las Vegas; Helen Hunt improving her stats; Diane Potter reaching Santa Rosa, New Mexico; and David Vass passing the 700 mile mark. Well done everybody.

  5. With just 6 weeks left to the end of the challenge, a number of people are stretching themselves to complete it. Rob Stallard is now just 11 miles off the beach at Santa Monica, having just passed through Los Angeles; Tony Griffiths is closing in on the 2K barrier, passing through the Nevada State Line with Las Vegas in his sights.

  6. Wet, cold, dark nights are keeping the cyclists in-doors. In fact it is only Diane Potter who has braved the weather this week so far, with a 34 mile ride to Usk that sees her reach Tucumcari, New Mexico. Hopefully there will be more action to report over the weekend.

  7. Only two riders out this weekend improving their Route 66 stats; Helen Gilmore getting closer and closer to the finish has now reached Barstow, California, with just over 100 miles to the finish; Tony Griffiths is closing in on the 2,000 mile mark, having smashed through the 1,900 barrier over the weekend.

  8. End of the week update. A number of 66ers out, mostly to Redwick which has seen Gareth Davies pass 1,600 miles and Diane Potter cycle over 1,200 miles. Also out this week improving their position were Rob Stallard, Helen Gilmore, Tony Griffiths, Shane Carey and Carolyn Griffiths.

  9. A catch-up on the weekend’s rides, and some others – after Rob Stallard’s latest ride he has put himself just 49 miles from home, with some climbing to catch-up on – Helen Gilmore who has completed the climbing is now 156 miles to the beach – Helena Hunt has also improved her mileage, climbing is done – Diane Potter has reached the New Mexico State Line – David Vass has now climbed over 30,000 feet with his latest ride.

  10. Not much action this week, only Tony Griffiths and Shane Carey putting some miles in, although I do believe that Rob Stallard has been out but have not yet seen his stats. Tony has now reached Kingman, Arizona and is heading for the Nevada State Line. Shane has also improved his mileage.
